What is the Coronavirus and what does it do?
The novel coronavirus is a new virus surfacing in Wuhan, China in 2019. This virus causes respiratory illness in people. Many patients have developed pneumonia in both lungs.
What are the symptoms?
Most patients have reported mild to severe respiratory illnesses with symptoms of breathing difficulty, cough and fever. Symptoms have appeared in as few as a couple days or up to 14 days after exposure. Some people have experienced no symptoms while others have become seriously ill and dying.
How does the virus spread?
While it is not fully known how it is spread yet, many cases have been reported through cold and flu transmittal practices, such as coughing and sneezing. Further research is needed to learn more on ways of transmittal.
How can you protect yourself?
Keep in mind this virus is not currently spreading in the US. The current best way to keep yourself protected are the simple everyday preventative actions that help prevent other respiratory and similar viruses and infections.

- Avoid touching mouth, nose and eyes with unwashed hands.
- Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
